18. Visions of Matsue’s Passing

Matsue passed away for rebirth on November 10, 1882. Only those who lived at the Residence were allowed to attend the funeral.

Izo could not attend as he was incarcerated at Nara Prison until the day after the funeral was held. Although he was not informed of Matsue’s passing, it is said that Izo saw visions of her passing and her funeral while he was in prison.
